The Wild Wild West League EXPANDS: Four New Teams In Texas

WILD WILD WEST LEAGUE EXPANDS TO TEXAS FOR 2022 SEASON

WITH FOUR NEW TEAMS TO PLAY IN CLEBURNE, TEXAS

The Fort Worth Rodeo Cats, Joshua Trees, Burleson Boxers and Cleburne Eagles Join Returning Teams Portland Gherkins, Willamette Wild Bills, Gresham Greywolves and Portland Rosebuds This Summer

The Wild Wild West League is expanding to Cleburne, Texas this summer. Cleburne is located less than thirty minutes south of downtown Fort Worth Texas. All games will be hosted at The Depot Stadium, the home stadium of the Cleburne Railroaders. The Wild Wild West is a summer collegiate wood bat league that launched in the summer of 2020 in Portland, Oregon.

The four new teams include:

Fort Worth Rodeo Cats- Saddle up cowboy, it’s time for the Rodeo Cats to rock your socks off.  Do you like rodeos? Do you have an allergy to cats? Have we got a team for you!! The Fort Worth Cats roamed these hills for eons, but the Rodeo Cats are taking over. Confidently clawing into their pommels, these Rodeo Cats will leave the best buckaroos shaking in their boots. They’re the toughest Cats in town and you’ll never find a better team.

Joshua Trees - The Joshua Trees stand tall and proud, just like U2’s biggest album of all time. They’ll enter your world surreptitiously, unbeknownst to you. Over time you’ll realize you can’t live without them. With roots that spread throughout the community, the Joshua Trees are the team to watch in the coming years.

Cleburne Eagles- To honor the Cleburne Eagles Negro League team that played from the 1930’s to the 1960’s, welcome the reinvigorated Cleburne Eagles. Starting as a sandlot team, the Cleburne Eagles rose to prominence in their hayday with highly talented players who went on to play for the Phillies as well as professional teams in Canada. Jabe Brazzel Jr. was a player who went on to coach the Vernon ISD team, now honored as the namesake of the school’s ballfield. The time is now to take this opportunity to honor the memory of these players.

Burleson Boxers- Put up your dukes, you’re about to meet the Burleson Boxers.  Are you ready to find the funnest, cutest team of all time?  These are your guys. Bring it on, the Burleson Boxers can handle it all.  The Boxers make brief work of their opponents at every opportunity.

Fitted Official League on field hats can be pre ordered at http://wildwildwestleague.com/ along with additional team information. The Wild Wild West League has struck a deal with Official League to become the Official On-Field hat.

This Wild Wild West Season, all games and workouts will be held on Monday’s, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as doubleheaders. Select games will be broadcast for free on team social media accounts. A year end Tournament will be held on August 5, 6 & 7.  Each Wild Wild West League team will also face other collegiate league teams, each game counting toward their Wild Wild West League standings.

The rosters include players from colleges around the country and locally, & will also feature select premiere graduating high school players. Full rosters will be released throughout the week @http://wildwildwestleague.com/ . Are you an elite high-school/college player? Please visit here to fill out an inquiry form, and the Texas Wild Wild West League will contact you!

The League will be a strategic developmental league helping players advance their skills while competing in games throughout the summer. All events will be played at The Depot in Cleburne station, the home of the Cleburne Railroaders professional baseball team. The Depot was awarded the Minor League Stadium of the Year by Ballpark Digest in 2017 and is one of the premiere facilities in the American Association of Professional Baseball.

Unique to the Wild Wild West League, summer league coaches will be communicating with your college coaches on a weekly basis. This is a tremendous advantage to players preparing them for the following season.
